Intrust Super Cup Round 11 had impressive kicks, a ‘goosey’ or two and plenty of razzle dazzle.
Wynnum Manly Seagulls talent Jack Campagnolo was a standout for the ladder leaders against Brisbane Tigers, earning himself the Hastings Deering player of the match and skipper honours for Round 11 Team of the Week.
Each round, Queensland Rugby League recognises the 17 best performers and name the Intrust Super Cup Team of the Week. These team selections are based not only on statistical data, but also take on board live and broadcast viewings of the games, with the standout performer of the week named captain.
Round 11 Team of the Week
1. Jayden Corrigan – Northern Pride
The talented Pride fullback, playing against his old club, was impressive in a losing side in Round 11. Corrigan scored one try, had the most run metres for Pride with 201, as well as one line break, one line break assist, one try assist and six tackle breaks. Townsville Blackhawks’ Jaelen Feeney was also impressive, scoring two tries, during his side’s win against Sunshine Coast Falcons.
2. Paul Ulberg – Sunshine Coast Falcons
The elusive Falcons winger was a standout for the side during their narrow loss to the Townsville Blackhawks. Ulberg clocked 222 run metres – the most for the Falcons, including 84 post-contact metres, and had four tackle breaks. Wynnum Manly Seagulls flyer Ed Burns was also impressive during his side’s win against Brisbane Tigers, with 170 run metres, one line break and three tackle breaks.
3. Bernard Gregorious – Norths Devils
The Devils centre’s impressive performance against Pride sees him make back-to-back appearances in Team of the Week. Gregorious scored one try, clocked 146 run metres, one line break, one line break assist and one try assist.
4. Bacho Salam – Townsville Blackhawks
Salam was excellent for the Blackhawks in Round 11. The dangerous centre scored one try, clocked 172 run metres, recorded one try assist, two line breaks and three tackle breaks.

5. Anthony Don – Burleigh Bears
The always exciting to watch Gold Coast Titans talent was on fire for the Bears against PNG Hunters, which should not come as a surprise to anyone who has watched him play during the past few years. ‘The Don’ scored two tries, clocked 150 run metres, had one try assist and four tackle breaks.
6. Jack Campagnolo – Wynnum Manly Seagulls (C)
Campagnolo helped lead Wynnum Manly around the park during their tight tussle with Brisbane Tigers. ‘Campo’ was impressive in attack and defence; he scored one try, kicked four from four conversions, clocked 163 run metres, had one line break and four tackle breaks and made 21 tackles. His performance earned him the Hastings Deering player of the match honours.
7. Cameron Cullen – Redcliffe Dolphins
In a team that was just pipped by a determined Tweed Seagulls, Dolphins skipper Cullen was one of his side’s best, scoring one try in the two-point loss to put this side in the contest. The creative half also made one line break, had two tackle breaks and earned 264 kick metres.
8. Herman Ese-ese – Tweed Seagulls
Seagulls prop Ese’ese returned from a three-game NRL suspension and made his presence felt during his 40 minutes on the field, scoring two tries, including a match-winning effort, against the Dolphins. Ese’ese made 124 metres from 15 runs, had two offloads, four tackle breaks and made 11 tackles.
9. Brad Frith – Souths Logan Magpies
In a busy performance, Magpies rake Frith scored one try, made 23 tackles, ran for 52 metres, had two try assists, three line break assists and one line break. Not bad for 59 minutes on the field. Aaron Booth – who gets extra kudos for shaving his hair for charity – was also strong for Brisbane Tigers and Danny Levi for Norths.
10. Justin Fai – Souths Logan Magpies
Fai came off the bench with a bang, scoring the first of his two tries within his first seven minutes on the field in the first half. The powerful forward made his 26 minutes of game time count beyond bagging two tries in the win; running for 123 metres from 10 runs, making two line breaks and six tackle breaks.
11. Jack Gibbons – Central Queensland Capras
The Capras second rower put in the work for his side in their Round 11 17-17 draw, topping the tackle count for his team with 34. Gibbons also scored one try, ran for 132 metres – 61 of those post-contact, made one line break and also threw in four tackle breaks as well.
12. Leivaha Pulu – Norths Devils
Pulu has been in strong form for the Devils this season and was at in again during his side’s big win against Northern Pride. The former New Zealand Warrior and Gold Coast Titan showed his experience with a standout performance that included crossing for two tries, running for 130 metres, producing one try assist, one line break assist, three line breaks and four tackle breaks.
13. Luke Bateman – Wynnum Manly Seagulls
Bateman is one tough player. The hard-running lock was a workhorse during his 59 minutes on the field against Brisbane Tigers. Bateman clocked 104 run metres, had one tackle break and tackled with a 94.3 per cent tackle efficiency, making the most tackles for Wynnum Manly with 33. Tigers lock Bennett Leslie was also impressive during the game, with 176 run metres, one line break assist and 35 tackles with 89.7 per cent tackle efficiency.
14. Thomas Rafter – Sunshine Coast Falcons
Rafter made a huge 45 tackles during his side’s loss against Townsville Blackhawks. The second rower also clocked 113 run metres and had four tackle breaks to earn his spot on the bench in the Round 11 Team of the Week.
15. Hayden Schwass – Burleigh Bears
The Bears second rower, no stranger to Team of the Week, was instrumental for Burleigh during their big win over PNG Hunters. Schwass scored one try, clocked 127 run metres, had two line breaks, one line break assist, one try assis, five tackle breaks and he made 26 tackles.
16. Louis Geraghty – Sunshine Coast Falcons
Geraghty, during only 40 minutes on the field, scored two tries, clocked 80 run metres, made two line breaks, eight tackle breaks and made eight tackles, missing none. He was super impressive in attack and defence.
17. Jack Quinn – Mackay Cutters
The Cutters forward crossed for his first try of the season and added to his points tally with a conversion as well. During his 61 minutes on the field, Quinn made 31 tackles and ran for 104 metres, 37 of those post-contact, as well as produced one line break and six tackle breaks.
